Craig 7829 Posted yesterday at 14:48 Share Posted yesterday at 14:48 Ben Jacobs reporting similar. I take Romano’s exclusives with a pinch of salt mind you. @Diego21 what you hearing?
strawb 4855 Posted yesterday at 14:55 Share Posted yesterday at 14:55 I don’t think we were ever that bothered, just agent talk to get him a move. Still suspect Trafford will sign but likely spend the season at Burnley if he’s going to be first choice there.
Kid Dynamite 8062 Posted yesterday at 15:09 Share Posted yesterday at 15:09 Part ex with Pope makes more sense. Dubravka as 2nd choice and Fraser/Krul in as 3rd choice

A season on loan playing regularly in the prem would do him wonders.

I think he had the most clean sheets in the championship last season. Might be ready to start in the PL with our defence in front of him. I wouldn’t expect him to start straight away were be to sign. Howe rarely throws young lads in straight away.
Gemmill 53505 Posted yesterday at 17:07 Share Posted yesterday at 17:07 You're saying the same thing he was, ie he won't be our number one from day 1 (and therefore Pope can't go in the opposite direction).

I still wouldn’t bring him in as first choice.

He's been hands down the best GK in the championship this season, and is in the England squad ahead of Pope. If we sign him for £30m, then he's coming in as No.1 Edited yesterday at 17:37 by Kid Dynamite
Holden McGroin 8178 Posted yesterday at 17:39 Share Posted yesterday at 17:39 He is still very young for a GK as well.

Ah, might have misread that. I replied thinking he was suggesting buying him then sending him on loan. I think he’d be ready to start games straight away. Whether Eddie thinks that or not remains to be seen

Ayatollah Hermione 15351
Must admit, as soon as I seen those links to Garcia, it all felt like agent talk to extract more money out of Barca. It’s been an open secret that we’re getting Trafford for about a year

OTF 8944
Locking up a long term top tier GK is smart business, but not not something I can get excited over. Both Pope and Dubravka didn't let us down through the season when called on. I do expect us to lock up Trafford after a lengthy pursuit but for him not to join up with us for another year.
