I tell you what, of all the players that have improved under Howe, the one that I thought had no hope of a future at the club was Jacob Murphy. He's probably out first choice RW now, and he seems like a class bloke to boot

I'm not sure he's our first choice RW, but I have him a load of shit at the beginning of the season and he's proven me wrong. He's gone from being absolutely lost in the final 3rd to being a decent threat.

Watching this documentary about Palace being saved from liquidation in 2013 or whenever it was, and I didn't realise that Eddie had been on the brink of taking over there. He'd been shown round the club and was about to sign but joined Burnley the next day.

 

Dougie Freedman is on the doc and says:

 

"That's when Steve came into the dressing room and said three words to me: 'you're taking training on Monday morning'"

 

Freedman then goes in to say "no disrespect to Eddie but I didn't think he was the man to keep us in the division that year". OK Dougie.
