  1. Past hour
  2. Ah man, what to say that isn’t already been said? How the fuck we haven’t got anything out of that game is beyond me. Man U are lifting. We had so many chances to win it. All their goals were shit to concede from our perspective - a trippier brain fart, then an unmarked swing from a corner. Dubs should have done better for the second and the third goals. We should have had a pen, but it’s old Trafford so forget about that. Isak, Longstaff and Miggy all have to score. annoying but this game isn’t the reason we won’t finish top 6.
  3. Howe being Howe wont probably comment on it, but the club should be asking for the audio at the very least. Make some noise man, it's absolutely disgraceful.
  4. Today
  5. VAR works well in rugby where the ref is mic'ed up, its shown on screen in the stadium and they discuss it publicly, and half the time you can hardly see the ball as its underneath 10 sweaty 20 stone men

  7. I wouldn't put it past him, he's certainly capable if his body does its part. I don't see him wanting to leave at this stage, but I guess it depends how long he wants to keep playing for. Hopefully he's ok transitioning into an offfield 'player' beyond next season (like Matt Ritchie, but loads better) l, having him as a mentor for Livramento could help him to round out his game.
  8. Completely agree it should be scrapped bar for automated offside checks and goal line tech. VAR is useless. I've complained til I'm blue in the face over this shit that VAR is only as useful as the people using it and the people using it are objectively useless. Like Gemmers said, let's just return to one useless idiot making decisions on the pitch and move on with our lives on that basis. At this point any illusion that VAR contributes to making the game fairer for clubs outside the elect (e.g., ManU, Liverpool, PSG et al) should be forgotten. Let's just get on with football, return to celebrating a goal when it's scored. VAR is an outgrowth of every referees latent delusion that they have the magical god-like capacity to make objectively correct decisions in a game of football. Let's forget that and get back to reality, shall we? The only thing we know for sure about football is that referees are universally an embarrassment to their family, have no friends, and carry a chip on their shoulder from years of being last picked on the playground. VAR check confirmed.
  9. I was watching the game on Sky for the first time in ages. How the fuck do they think a panel of Cole, the swearing Cork cunt and this fat bearded cunt can be appropriate. Fucking ridiculous non-discussion of the penalty appeal in the first half. Cunts everywhere.
  10. We need to sign Schär's replacement. It doesn't need to be a like for like as we're unlikely to find someone with his passing and technique who is also the right age and also more mobile. My hope is that with Tonali coming back we get that deeper distribution from him as well as a fully fit Botman. Then we need an additional striking option, perhaps someone with more of a physical presence who can play back to goal. Isak's fitness is patchy, and he has the odd game (like today) where things don't click for him. The right wing option also needs sorting. Murphy has on balance done well and Almiron has had patches but otherwise frustrated. To go to the next level we need improvement there. Then it's a better reserve keeper option than Pope, someone on the rise with quality on the ball also as that's still Pope's biggest weakness.
  11. With Gordon tonight it is so fucking obvious what this bullshit is for. A fucking disgraceful experiment that has been shown far too often to be not fit for purpose.
  12. I'm in the same boat. There's no doubting his quality. What is interesting will be if clubs are in for him again in the window to see what we do. There's obviously a point at which getting a fee and wages off the books for an aging, possibly declining player, becomes a value proposition worth considering.
  13. One bright spot from tonight is Hall looks the bees knees.
  14. What a fucking shit day I had. It started awful, got worse and ended with this shit show. Fucking bollocks on all accounts.
  15. Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him leave. I still hear rumours about his wife wanting him away from the NE
  16. Yep. I'm hopeful that Tonali can buck the trend when it comes to Italians in the PL. I think a full season away from the pressures of week-to-week PL fixtures could have interesting effects. It's pure hope obviously but I hope he takes this past twelve months and really makes the most of it. If we can start next season with a midfield trio of Joelinton-Bruno-Tonali then anything is possible.
  17. I'm still hoping he has another good season in him, and he can sort his head out in the summer. He was outstanding earlier in the season and last season as well. If his head really is elsewhere he needs to make a decision in the summer.
  18. It's his leadship qualities that will ensure he remains a key member of the squad even if his playing minutes are rightfully reduced.
  19. It should/could have been us but it would be funny if Spurs lose and Chelsea knock them out of fifth.
  20. We’ll probably improve considerably just off Tonali replacing Longstaff alone.
  21. 100%, aimaad. We are only a few quality signings from having a team that can realistically set 4th as the target at the start of the season next year. If we can magic up a few signings of the calibre of Gordon, Bruno, Isak, Botman (pre-injury) by the start of the season (and add some depth with the likes of the rumoured Tosin and Kelly signings) then anything could happen.
  22. The great thing about that, being just a little off from being a truly great team, is that you only need 2-3 additional successful moves to make the transition. 2-3 quality signings that can tip the balance, we all know in which areas. If the club fails to do that in the summer, it will be more of just this and we'll have noone else to blame.
  23. Yeah, the team that scores the most goals is always best, especially the home team at Old Trafford. Defensively we had a mare, but we were better going forward and robbed of a stone wall penalty.
  24. We handed them the two first goals tbf. That stat is more a reflection on us than it is on them imo
  25. With Trippier, I’m hoping that a summer break (I’m not sure he goes to the Euros tbh. Maybe as emergency left back) can help him. Fresh start next season but he needs to know, in no uncertain terms, that Livramento is hot on his heels if he has a run of bad form
  26. Every stat other than putting the ball in the net. They were must better than us at doing that.
