Funny thing about that remark-sums up how different Yanks are to Brits about distances. A two hour drive is considered a hop to the neighbouring town cos the USA is so big, here tho two hours would get me from Manchester to past Birmingham and I think of that as a right mission. Even London on the train is 2 hours 5 mins and I think of that as the other end of the country. Not saying I wouldnt bother going to NYC if it was only two hours away (obviously) but funny how you have such a different perspective on scale. That difference is one of the biggest I've noted as yet- our completely different perspective regarding distances and travel. I'll never forget having breakfast in a B&B while on hols to the Channel Islands and listening to an english couple go on about yanks... more specifically how anyone could justify having two vehicles for family use. It was amusing to hear the owner mildly scold them regarding their ignorance of the sheer size of this country and the distances between point A and point B. Two cars in a family isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.

Where I live? It's out in the middle of nowhere so the area is nice and quiet yet in the matter of two hours I could be in NYC or Boston on a whim, and easy accessability to ocean or mountains as the mood may dictate.

I'd wondered what was going on when I tried checking things out here last night after I got off duty. What a bunch of professionals you guys are.

Seconded. That is THE worst smell... followed closely by one from a hospice patient I once had. He started of with a melanoma and died with the whole side of his body eaten away. Bones and tendons visible, flesh gone and the stench... imagine a body like the one you found TR yet able to turn it's head and look at you.
