Reckon there's a good player in Cabella that we've seen flashes off (Chelsea away). Problem is, it's virtually impossible for those kind of players to look good in systems where the entire plan is to camp on the edge of the box for 90 minutes and try to fluke a goal. Get him plenty of touches and get him a run of games where he can settle. Pardew's approach to the likes of Hatem, Marveaux and Cabella was to give them 3 games and then immediately blame them for us losing so he could hoy his hardworking shite back in.

I'd rather see Cabella in the centre since he's never had a proper run there in his time here and get another wide player in tbh. I'd also go for a first team quality left back and try Haidara further forward; the one thing he's half decent at is getting forward at every chance since he has a better touch, can beat his man and is a lot quicker than Dummett, who should probably be used as fourth choice centre half if we were to get shot of Williamson. I reckon new players on both flanks (Janmaat aside) would see us look a lot better, especially as it's a bit much to ask Aarons, a 19 year old kid, fresh from injury, to perform all season.

Also, very true. You've got Palace fans on Twitter giving it big licks, wondering why Wijnaldum would sign for us and having the cheek to call us a tinpot club. The simple fact is that, the stature of Newcastle United aside, we've got a core of players who are international quality and we can use that to attract highly rated Dutch midfielders to the club. On the other hand, Crystal Palace have Alan Pardew who has enticed Cabaye back because we're close to the Euros and Cabaye sees it as a way to play enough football and get into the France squad. We can attract players who are hungry to prove themselves in the Premier League whereas they're getting PSG castoffs who are in so desperate need of football that they're linking up with managers who they staged a strike against to leave! I would probably have Cabaye back, don't get me wrong, but this isn't the signing that Palace fans believe it to be. If anything, it's going to encourage Pardew to slink back into his cautious, negative shell where he relies on Pardew to fire the ball 50 yards up the pitch from deep in the midfield. Give him time, it'll all unravel at Palace.
