The fact he's saying "Wait until the end of the season" rather than "No. Never." tells alot.

I've said before and i'll say it again. He's one of the only men in football who's death will move me to tears. The man is an utter legend and did a huge amount for this club on and off the pitch. I remember the Keegan years with some fondness but I was fairly young so I didn't really understand what it all meant. The Robson years came when I was a teenager, when my interest was peaked. Okay, I never believed we'd actually win anything but the fact we were playing bloody good football, beating the best teams and qualifying for the Champions League was enough for me. I've got to thank Bobby for giving me some of the best games of my life. The 2-0 against the Mackems, the 4-3 against ManUre, the 3-1 against Arsenal, 4-3 against Leeds, the list goes on. I know my post is going to seem fairly fatalistic and I know he's not gone yet but every time I hear this news it just makes me realise he's not long for this world.

Says a lot about Robson that he's big enough to come back and do that, considering how pissed off he initially was (with good reason). It also kinda suggests he may well have been big enough to accept being moved upstairs if fair notice had been given, and maybe might even have had a hand in finding his replacement. Or even raises the question as to whether he is still fit enough to play some role within the club, if Roeder is here next season I'd be pleased to see Robson here in some capacity though I doubt whether any established manager would want Robson about the place. I think he's earned his retirement don't you? He's lucky to still be alive, it would be down right reckless to give him the stress of a position here. He may have earned his retirement but do you think he'd take it if offered a position at Newcastle like DoF? I doubt it.

I think he's lost the team completely. I think that reflects more on the team than on Roeder. Who in that team is living up to their reputation? They know their jobs are not on the line as NUFC has a history of accomodating shite players, and not putting blame where it's due. They are a team of journeymen and also-rans, we only have 2 or 3? medal winners, and they are arguably on their way out. Added to the fact we have no money and despite the bollocks spouted by Freddy I doubt NUFC is any player's first choice. As long as the wages come in, I can't see any manager motivating them. It reflects on both. I seriously believe that if we got a good manager in who commanded respect from his players we'd see the level of performance improve. Good players don't just turn into bad players overnight.
