The whole day, it must be like being a Stockport fan welcoming Man Utd to your ground, the absolute respect they have for us is staggering. They have a go at us, yet step back in awe. This was me first derby at Sunderland since 1991 when I was 13, their fans were shite then they are fuckin shite now. See inferiors in derby relationships, you normally find the inferiors wipe the floor with their superiors support wise, see St Pauli, see Espanyol, see Millwall, see fuckin Scotland when they play England. Them today. Baring in mind they live their whole lives thinking about us, their support wasn't even mediocre, you could go to Bolton away and be winning 3-0 at half time and still see better home support than them inbreds today. As for the game they were pathetic they had two good chances, we controlled the game without exerting ourselves I;ve not seen the replay on telly yet, but fuckin Harper had to do better that was my first thought, that goal was a sickener proper sickener. I think 1-0 up if we had a proper manager Lovenwanks, would've staye don the bench and a more defensive player should've come on. All in hindsight though, never mind I'd have taken 1-1, but their players realised they were playing for Sunderland against Newcastle, it's a big thing, they realise they're inferior, the best comparison I can give is Uruguay v Argentina, now and then the Uruguayans will have the better side but their main industry is tuna fishing, while Argentina is a massive cultural hub with the most unique identity in South America. What annoys me about toon fans is it's only a year and a half ago yet they all seem to forgot through all our trials and tribulations of 08.09 it was Webb who relegated us. How many refs would've disallowed Viduka's header against Fulham? 1 in 20 max, that point would've kept us up. He loves the murderers, he loves those wall pushers with a passion, but if someone was torturing him with a lie detector test who he hates the most in the UK, we'd be top. Or maybe they are just highlighted more. Anyway, I'd much rather have him reffing a game that I am playing in as im sure he would explain his thoughts you - whether it be right or wrong. The ignorant refs are the fucking worst. Mike Dean being the prime example today when he sent off that weasel Rafael. Webb does seem to give Man U a lot of decisions though. It's the arrogance of some of them that gets to me; for people that regularly get most of their job wrong, it's infuriating. I've said before that that disallowed goal was because he was under orders after we'd scored a similar goal against Boro and I think his performance yesterday was influenced by standing orders on Barton. I don't blame Barton that much for egging some of the tackles on him because by any normal standards they were yellows. His yellow card for handball was a fucking joke and I'd love to know if the cunt has ever booked anyone else for it. I switched on the Spurs game and within a minute a Man U player had done a much more deliberate hand to ball job and not a word was said - funny given how free Dean was with the cards for Rafael. I said yesterday Barton should change his name but I think we should double bluff the referees association/FA and get all our players to change their name to JB just to make a fucking point. Totally agree re: Barton making the most of some of the challenges later on as well since that was the only way the ref was likely to give anything. I think the late substitutions are in the end to blame for it. There was no need for five minutes of extra time. If my memory is right referees are advised to add an extra minute per substitution to stop time wasting. Webb was glad to do this yesterday. I don't blame Pardew for it as this is what most managers do, but I think this tactics of time wasting don't work and did backfire yesterday.
