Also heard some financial bloke on BBC breakfast claim Man U were just out of the 2nd division when Fergie took over. Where do they find these fuckers? Aye, that's one of the biggest Fergie myths, that they were nothing before he took over, they had finished top four in the five previous seasons. Some of the arseholes ringing in giving it the holier than thou 'this isn't the United way' bullshit are missing the point completely. It's easy to back a manager when he's the most successful in English history but there's no point in backing a man just for the sake of it. Kenwright hired a manager to manage everything. Didn't stick his beak in. Let him manage his own limited budget, paid him £4m a year. Gave him autonomy. What other big name club is going to be in for him? It's not that I particularly like the guy but he knows the Premiership and Pardew is in freefall.
