  1. Past hour
  2. I think you might be disappointed on the nerve jangling front. They're no better than they were when we brushed them aside in the cup, and we have moved up a gear since then with more to come in the summer. Obviously weird results happen in football, especially derbies, but there's a bigger gap between us and them than there is between us and Real Madrid these days. Their best hope is they get us after an away midweek in the CL.
  3. Broken ribs Poor lad, but he tried to play on the mad bastard.
  4. The idea of a sporting director or a DoF is that its meant to be a long term, continuity focussed job where you stay in position for a long time. Instead he fucked us off after 18 months and then lasted 5 months at man u. Its impossible to say that he did a good job at either because he wasn't around long enough to have done one, but by virtue of that I reckon its fair to say he did a bad job or a main facet of his position.
  5. Yeah the whole point of this sort of job is to create long term football policy and procedures so that you don’t end up being like Man Utd with no long term vision ie sacking every useless bastard they appoint after 18 months and having to pay off all their staff but being lumbered with the eye wateringly expensive useless bastards that they’ve signed….
  6. Never been so meh about Sunderland in my life. That said, I do really miss the derby games as they’ve previously been such a big part of my life as a Newcastle fan. As much as we have a few “rivalries” with other prem clubs, nothing compares to the build up and aftermath of a derby week, particularly having spent most of my life working in Sunderland. Naturally, I will find it quite amusing if they crash at Wembley, but the inner real football fan inside is hoping they get up and those two nerve jingling fixtures return.
  7. It’s maybe fair to say he didn’t do enough to establish a body of work one way or another. But that in itself makes him seem like a bit of a fraud when he keeps taking a position that is in essence about the long term and doesn’t stay for long enough to be judged based on the tangible outcomes of his performance.
  8. Today
  9. I don't think we'll ever know. The one truly excellent transfer window we had happened before he'd joined. If Minteh was his spot, then he helped get us out of a PSR hole, I guess.
  10. Not 100% sure this is true but I've heard Marinakis strode into the operating theatre to remonstrate with the doctors. Anyway I hope the lad is OK.
  11. We're going to have no fucker left next season Seasons not even over and so far I've seen; Botman to PSG Tino to Man City Tonali to all of italy (or man u ) Bruno to city or arsenal Gordon to arsenal barnes to villa Isak to arsenal or liverpool Big mitch really does have a job on
  12. Yesterday
  13. It isn’t ribs. He’s obviously perforated or torn something when he’s collided with the goal. Possibly bowel/spleen/liver and may have had internal bleeding since. It’s normal to keep someone under anaesthetic in critical care after emergency abdominal surgery and it tends to be for the first 24hrs and then they’ll wake him. It’ll be a long recovery though. Wishing him the best.
  14. The Forest striker Awoniyi who rammed into the post in their last match has been placed in an induced coma. Must have cracked a bunch of ribs or something. Not anything life threatening according to the news but still a serious injury it seems. Poor lad. https://sport.optus.com.au/news/premier-league/os92854/nottingham-forest-taiwo-awoniyi-coma-surgery-post-collision-leicester-city
  15. Palace have paid £30m for Nketiah and he's scored 1 goal in 26 games 😳
  16. As we speak their owner is negotiating an extended list of extra chores he can do for his mam to get extra pocket money. Itk’s reckon they’ve hit a sticking point over putting the bins out every week.
  17. Came out of Supergrass, saw there was a minute left of extra time so dove in The Star to watch the pens. Walked in as the corner came in the box and they scored. So, I apologise for that
  18. On holiday so haven't seen anything but if it's Sheffield United they're going to get at Wembley then they'll win it, Sheff United are shit v NE clubs. Fancied Cov more beating them in this leg. Unless they hit very lucky with some spectacular loan deals then next year in the PL is going to be very painful for them unless I'm reading it completely wrong and their players defy my layman's eyes.
  19. Am I alone in thinking that for all he's a bastard, he was actually pretty good?
  20. And Sheffield United just won 6 0 on aggregate. 👍
  21. Just delaying the pleasure for a greater return at Wembley. Meanwhile pray for Trafalgar square.
  22. And if they do it’ll be great watching them get humped most weeks
