Taylor did well the first 10 games, then was exploited at Man City away, he also got done for pace time and time again v Chelsea at home and Santon came in to start shortly afterwards. There has to be very big problems if none of our reserve/youth players aren't up to at least a bit better a standard than Gosling. I doubt he was on too much but it'll still be money saved.
