  1. I'd happily feign injury and have a snooze in the air conditioned treatment room. No cut in pay, mind you
  2. I can't imagine why he didn't want to sign for a club owned by Ashley and managed by Steve Bruce. Such a tempting fee too.
  3. I marvelled at her commentary when I listened to a TF podcast. Shortly before turning it off.
  4. Be great if his first name was Ham
  5. I suppose when you dont move further than your mam and dad's attic, or the local playground if you're on a glue bender, the concept of people moving around is hard to grasp
  6. Hey ho. Bit of a reality check there. We never got going but no disgrace in a 1 nil loss at the etihad. Just disappointed we didn't play better and give them a genuine test.
  7. Not sure what happened there cos that looked like a push in the back on Izak and a peno to me
  8. He did Pope for pace. It was at a saveable height and range otherwise tbh
  9. Half time. We've not looked like ourselves at all imo - disjointed and giving the ball away. Surely due a better second half and we're still in it at 1 down
  10. Indeed It's like a fever dream in comparison to the Ashley era
  11. I agree. We've signed 5 players (including Hall) for approx $130m and given the squad genuine depth and options from the bench for the first time in years. Fucking brilliant! Not bad considering we only had the money to sign 2 average players from relegated clubs according to a certain Mr L. Edwards.
  12. Just imagine what Bruce could have achieved with proper investment. Just goes to show the best English manager in the game had two hands tied behind his back by Ashley. (Copyright Alex Bruce and various of Steve's pissed up old mates in the media)
  13. Youre probably right that they cant sack him, but they dont have to restore him to the first team squad. Unless they believe hes innocent ofc
  14. I think there's every chance he nodded off after 30 minutes, and needed to be kicked awake at full time
  15. Their angle seems to be how do we justify bringing him back in, rather than weighing up the right thing to do. Basically they dont want to lose their asset.
  16. I know this it's inappropriate to focus on a turn of phrase here, given just how evil that transcript is, but did he really say "Damn me"? It made him sound like a Victorian era gammon. Maybe he was role playing Stephen Fry as the Duke of Wellington as a rapist...
  17. There's really no point to VAR if it's not seen to be impartial, fair and competently done. It was supposed to eliminate controversy, all it does is stoke it. Most people said last season it was shite or bent (or both) and its going to be more of the same this season. Scrap it I say....invest in the recruitment, training and pay of elite officials, with a separate body from the PL overseeing the performance and fitness of officials. If someone isn't cutting the mustard they should be dropped and forced to work their way back in or retire. This isnt hard.
  18. I think it was a loan iirc. And there was definitely something about not having the money to fix a lift
