  1. Chucking 43 million at the club help any? Bournemouth are pretty traditional rivals (obviously not strictly local) of Brentford, they've very often been in the same division over the last half century and it's just over an hour up the m3. Eddie Howe is getting all the plaudits there but he couldn't do fuck all without the budget that the local Oligarch is chucking his way. Neither set of fans can believe what's happening at these clubs, but it's chiefly down to money. No real harm in a two year deal for someone like Rosler though iyam. The risks aren't sky high, and it can be reviewed in May.
  2. Tbh I'd rather have someone a bit left field like Rosler and let him give it a go till the end of the season. If we keep Sissoko (big if) and bob along in mid table it might give him something to build on next season. Oh and at least the quarter finals of the cup or he's a fritzy Hun sausage sucking Bosch bastard, obviously
  3. Would be a classic Ashley appointment though, out of work, never likely to get a job at a bigger club, no real experience at this level.....he only got the job at Wigan precisely because Brentford were going well, but that might have more to do with the amount of money that had started going in there via their city boy owner.
  4. That alone should rule Bruce out of it. We got 3 points more than Villa
  5. Good week for the fat fuck, 3 mill sat on his arse in Barbados....Brentford are in a playoff spot in the championship, the owner seems too good to be true...43 mill it's cost him so far.... http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/brentford-owner-matthew-benham-every-championship-club-wants-to-get-into-the-premier-league-and-we-are-no-different-9336176.html
  6. Ashley's at it already in dear auld Glesga...not even January for 26 hours http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30631805
  7. Karanka's wiki: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aitor_Karanka 350 la liga appearances, almost 100 for Real Madrid, 1 cap for Spain. 3 years coaching Spain u16s and 3as assistant at Real Madrid. Well am impressed, How much will Gibbo be paying him?....
  8. Where does this perception that the relatively faceless coaching staff are fuckin useless come from?..... It's all a bit "guilty by association" iyam. Sir Bobby appointed Carver too. Was he useless then? He's a bit of an aggressive fucker, I'll give you that, he told a lad I know that he didn't want to talk to him very bluntly indeed in a hotel foyer in Kharkiv last year. But does that make him a bad coach? Was Carver playing Moussa wide instead of through the middle? Does ex England player Stone just put the cones out? Is Mourihno shit bacause he was never paid to play the game? Sir Bob made a coach out of him too. Seeing as we've whinged bitched and moaned to get Pardew out I think they deserve our full and unreserved support until they can they can be assessed one way or the other.
  9. No they fuckin haven't Sky trying to make themselves appear "in the loop" after spending yesterday completely out of it. I heard Neil Ashton of the Daily mail earlier, he appears to be getting the inside track probably from Pardew himself or his agent and not giving sky as much as a nibble. Possibly.....
  10. Am not sure if we have either. Were ninth but I think Sissoko Is off next month. But if Fatem turns up at training next week and hasn't overdone the festive dates...
  11. "Pardew stopped being a yes-man in the end. He accepted defeat and fled" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/11317458/Mike-Ashley-has-left-Newcastle-stagnant-and-stained-with-his-greedy-ownership-who-would-want-the-job-now.html
  12. Will Ashley pay compo to Hull whilst he can get Curbishley for nowt?...
  13. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that we could pluck a Pocchetino type appointment out of the ether? It makes the most sense for what Ashley wants to achieve. Hoddle is a good shout and he might look at our squad and think there's enough to be getting on with and a good scouting system in place, which may make him swallow his pride and give it a bash. Can't see anyone of his generation working easily with Ashley though.
  14. Well no, Ashley didn't tactically wait for Palace to sack Warnock did he? He should be on the stage if he knew what was going to happen this week. It's the same reason Ashley still owns there club, there's not a buyer out there, there was for Pardew.
  15. Tbf the only player manager who's ever been successful is Dalglish at Liverpool. Got rid of the team he inherited by buying McMahon, Venison, Barnes, Houghton and Beardsley in his first 12 months. Easier said than done, even for a club of Liverpool's status back then. By the time he came to us though football had moved on but he hadn't.
  16. Yeah purely appeals to his barrow boy instincts. It is canny funny though, I think Pardews been close to the sack (and a big-ish payoff) a few times and now someone's actually given Jabba a load of cash for him, fat fuck couldn't resist it
  17. He was being held by Coleman and the first two swings were Cisse trying to get away from the fucker. Not condoning what Cisse did third time but grabbing someone by the shirt is a free kick anywhere else on the pitch. Murphys motd comments were more over the top than a Wayne Rooney tackle.
  18. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/fabricio-coloccini-set-for-newcastle-united-job-9949277.html Fuckin hell
  19. Agreed. It's a crapshoot tbh, 50/50 iyam...
  20. It's the laws of diminishing returns though, I think Pardew may well have eventually relegated us, or done enough damage to make say next season irretreiveable. Same goes for Carr iyam. He won't go on pulling rabbits out if hats before handing to Pardew to be err Pardewed. Ashley plucks managers from the ether that none of us expect, good or bad. My feeling is that he may veer towards Europe next season after he sees how Pedro gets on.
  21. Press conference at 1315 tomorrow, who's in the chair?....
  22. Boro manager, going well like...
