“I have always liked Perez.
“He has a special quality that you don’t see in too many players and you can understand why there is some talk around him (and his future).
“Everyone at Newcastle could see that as soon as he arrived at the club.
“We asked him to adapt to the pace of the Premier League very quickly as soon as he arrived at Newcastle and that wasn’t easy for him at the start.
“He needed some time to appreciate what was needed in this league, but technique-wise, he is top class.
“He has improved in the Premier League now and that is good to see.

“We always knew there was a special player in there and I’m not surprised to see him doing well.”

lying c***.
He didn't play him until he was desperate for options, and Perez didn't take time to adapt. He took to the Premier League almost immediately.
And also, got to give respect for still trying to sell our players even when he's gone.

NUFC over 38 games since Ashley arrived, not NUFC after Ashley's 38th game.

Massaging statistics. End of.

To the Pardew quote "We always knew there was a quality player......" Yeah you and the rest of Europe you feckin wanker.

“There was no way I could say my spirit was high at Newcastle at the end – it wasn’t.

“They’d (the fans had) banged me down, banged my spirit down. And a lot of my management is about my spirit and my front foot, let’s come on, we can do it, we can over-achieve – that’s what I’m about.
“Of course this environment (at Palace) is perfect for me, I knew it would be perfect for me.”
“I tried to put on that pitch at Newcastle an entertaining team. At times, it wasn’t, for sure.
“At times we struggled, we lost players to injury, we didn’t invest enough.
“For all those reasons we had some sticky periods.
“But in my last game there I knew there was a possibility this might open up to me this place (Palace), and we (Newcastle) played Everton and we won, we were ninth in the Premier League.
“I looked at the Press the next day and the social media – because social media is a massive part of the feeling of the group, it really is, you can’t get away from it I’m afraid. It’s the same here (at Palace), social media plays a big part now.
“So I looked at it (after the Everton game) and it was like: ‘We’re under-performing.’
“I thought we were over-performing in the end so really I knew it was the best time to give them (Newcastle) a new start and me to move on.”
“Coming to this place (Palace) and where we are right now, it’s very attractive to players and easy to sell to them,” Pardew continued.
“Cabaye was easy; I’m the manager here, I make all the big decisions with the owner, who has tremendous faith, he was with me when we met Yohan. We have a fanbase that’s right behind us. And we love them for being noisy.
“It (Palace) has great attributes for a professional football; access to home from London is easy whether you live in Buenos Aires or Windsor.”

They’d (the fans had) banged me down, banged my spirit down.

Seeing as he blamed us for dropping points at home by having the temerity to actually vocalise our support for the players, how the fuck were we supposed to act at any point?

As for taking notice of social media, for a man in his position that's the sign of fuckin weakling.

He's having the equivalent of his 5th place finish here. He's got 2 quick wingers with no end product and his strikers are Whickham and Chamakh. Cabaye is their best player by a mile and I reckon they will be comfortably bottom half next season

Aye but most were saying that about this season, don't get me wrong I'm not his fan - but the results haven't been so bad - just further re-enforces to me that Ashley's strategy is the real source of the rot. The fact he's getting better play out of that sack of shite is saying something.

Utter bilge blaming the fans for anything, back in the day a smaller ground with less fans in but more vociferous supporters could destroy a players confidence. That doesn't happen to the same extent anymore and anyway, one week we're too demanding, the next we're too nervous etc, not for the first time, poltroon pardew living up to his reputation as an arch talker of shite.

Aye he can get to fuck. Thrilled we don't have to hear his utter shite patter every week now. When did he try to play attacking football? even with a team brimming with confidence and capable of going on to cuff teams he regularly put the brakes on and sent them out to defend a 1-0 lead after halftime during the season we came 5th. It's also telling that he thought 9th place was over-performing.

Those quotes scream of someone that is thrilled to bits at being the big fish in the little pond. He must be looking into ways to lengthen Yohan Cabaye's career because without him he would have never managed us to 5th or got Palace to where they are atm. Much like Fat Sam we're the biggest job he'll have so he wont ever stop talking about NUFC and of course it's easy to just blame the fans as that way there's no real comeback.
