  1. fuck off man. the manufacturing company I work for claims to be 'mission critical' it makes components for gas and oil drilling and the odd few parts for the M.O.D. it's insisted to the workforce it's an essential service and therefore 90 blokes have to continue to handle lumps of stainless steel and have done since the lockdown. they've already trying to pressurise folk to give up their good fridays and easter mondays to carry on working in a factory. the reality is the only thing mission critical to the company i work for is the end of month targets and the greed of the shareholders. fuck the health of the workers and their families. the reason this virus will continue to kill is because people are being used as cannon fodder for the economy and told to keep away from wide open spaces.

  10. That Hartley brewer another of many examples of cunt who seem to have carte blanche to spout shit, wind people up for clicks/bites. She's blocked on twitter. Life's simpler ignoring her and if everyone did she'd shrivel up into nothing. You could do a Ralph McTell and lead her round the streets of wherever talking about real life and I'm sure she'd be a little pussycat whilst she'd be getting shown around. I've zero respect for her and her likes but could think of plenty of mothers where I lived growing up who were fucking colossus's compared to the likes of her despite not being dealt the best hands in life. Fuck her.

  11. Agreed. I liked duty free though. My mate saw “Keith Barron” in the pisser at Schipol airport once, came out the WC and told us. We then all simultaneously looked to the khazi door to see the (then) recently sacked former Blackburn manager Roy Hodgson emerging from his ablutions. Very much “you had to be there” but the lad still gets his nose rubbed in that particular debacle on a regular basis Agreed. Sadly no mistaken identity celeb anecdotes for that particularly grim affair...

  12. As the person standing next to you as you’re anaesthetised, I can assure you that in the case of Covid you’re just grateful that someone else is going to do your breathing for you. I’m yet to see ‘terror’ so would be grateful if you’d calm the fuck down and stop presuming things based on no experience whatsoever.

  13. If you let Trump get a second term because of your left wing (or any other type of misguided) principles, I'm not calling you "stupid", I'm calling you a fucking pathetic martyr cunt. The question these fucking bellwhiffs (assuming they exist) need to ask themselves is, on balance, what will come closer to delivering a fairer society for those less fortunate. I'm not saying what will DELIVER it, I'm saying what will be least damaging to them. The answer isn't Trump. So if you let him get back in because you're so very principled, then you can top yourself as far as I'm concerned.

  14. I'm one of the ones who hasn't self isolated, hasn't been sent home bad, hasn't been sent home with an underlying condition, isn't working from home, isn't job sharing and doing less hours and I put an appeal in the other week because I wasn't paid a bonus because I had a few weeks off last year after an operation. One week later I get a reply from an HR lass saying that my appeal has failed after investigation. What investigation? She's sent me it from her fucking settee! Tbf, they have given me a letter to show to the police if I'm stopped that I'm a key worker although they've left out the bit that I'm a key worker for my company's shareholders. If @ewerk knows of any stashes could he forward them on if I get the urge to go an a 'Murrica shooting spree? (Actually, it doesn't matter, they'll all be in the fucking house posting isolation videos on Facebook and Twitter). Cunts.

  20. Just a reminder she’s an utterly callous Tory, just like he is. Wishing him dead is one thing of course, but not caring about someone who clearly didn’t care who got harmed so long they got into power is quite another.

  21. 1917 - just in an incredible feat of filmmaking. I liked parasite a lot but this film was robbed of the best picture Oscar. Quite a good one to watch during these frightening times. Because although things are undoubtedly as bad as they have been in living memory for most of us, we are still lucky compared to the poor sods who lived through the Great War.

  36. I have no sympathy. I tried to, I know I should, but I just don't. He spent years fucking the country over to get to where he is, and now there's a sense of karma about the whole thing. I don't wish him dead, but I will not, on any level, shed a tear if he goes. If that makes me a cunt, I don't care. That's what his shitshow Brexit project has reduced me too. I won't celebrate his passing if it comes to it, but I certainly won't give a single fuck.

  39. Just a thought aswell. If he’s been on a general Covid ward then it’s likely to be a 15:1 patient to nurse ratio. ITU gets him 1:1 care. Or it did until this past couple of weeks.. And they can do fancy tests like ABG’s (arterial blood gases) to check his respiratory function based on the levels of CO2 in his blood, thus being able to detect further deterioration far more quickly than if he was ward-based. If the ABG results show rapidly deteriorating resp function then ventilation will be required whilst the docs try to correct everything with the patient under anaesthesia. And I can guarantee that every nurse the Tories have shafted for years will do absolutely everything they can for him. As they should.

  42. It’s not fun but it’s manageable for now. We had a run of patients deteriorating and needing intubation for ventilation last weekend (I did 2 in one night and there was 2 the next shift) and I thought that was going to be the start of the madness but it eased off in ITU although general admissions are ramping up. We’ve since had a couple we’ve managed to wean off the ventilator and more that have died. We’re now treating any patient that comes to surgery as Covid positive which means full PPE and protocol. It’s like walking into the lion’s den every night not knowing what you’ll be facing. The worst thing so far was hearing a relative screaming at my colleague down the phone when he was told he couldn’t visit his dying mother. She was called a heartless bitch and various other things and he threatened to kick his way into the department. I totally get it but it’s heartbreaking and mentally and emotionally exhausting.
