  1. Can we all just agree that any sport that is a closed shop, and has teams called Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St.Louis Sex Pests, and Washington Foreskins is a fucking stupid sport and get on with discussing what used to be a proper sport?

  2. Nah then. This has really made me chuckle. Sky have bank rolled the top league for decades and now all of a sudden you're getting the likes of Neville annoyed. Hahha get away man. Fans, including oursleves clamouring over each other for a sugar daddy to bank roll em into winning silverware. Well, this is where you end up.

  6. Aye, anyone saying they wouldn't want to watch a title race between Everton and Leicester are exactly the same as those who would have said they wouldn't want to watch a race between Man City and Chelsea 20 yrs ago.

  7. I’d love to have been in the room the second it dawned on them that they were going to have to invite Spurs “they’re from England, near arsenal”

  8. If they ban all the teams involved in these shenanigans from European football then we’re only ten points off CL qualification. Where are all the Bruce haters now?

  18. No, this is entirely different. The Premier League retained the football pyramid and bought a lot of positives to the game, along with some negatives. There are things to play for right until the end of the season. There is an underlying spirit of meritocracy albeit usually debased by money in practice. Leicester showed what can be done. This is different, it is contrary to meaning of football and in fact sport in general. I'm glad this has happened. Its clearly got no legs as it would be existential suicide from the named clubs (although if they disagree I am more than happy for them to fuck off). But it's shown up the clubs, and more importantly their owners, for the scum that they are. Only concerned about business models and elimination of uncertainty rather than sport itself. Greed will kill them.

  20. The way they've apparently distributed the cash isn't even equal within the breakaway league. So, Barcelona get a larger share of the initial pot e.g. Afterwards, if a new club joined, they'd have no say vote in the running of the league, smaller share funds for participating and if they were to win the thing, they'd get less than the original clubs do, simply for playing in the group stage. There's no sporting point in the thing, it's entirely down to the big boys not liking competition. So they're not bothered about 'legacy fans' and are chasing future fans instead. Those future fans that'll soon get bored of watching their chosen team get pumped every week. Which means those fans who've not got any real ties to the club will simply change allegiance to whoever's winning all the time. Arsenal and Spurs playing pointless games for 90% of the season, in front of smaller tourist crowds. Can the football associations ban players from being traded to or from those clubs for money? Can the players refuse to take part in it? PL players contracts are with the FA, aren't they?

  22. The best thing is this is the sort of shite fat Mike would wank himself stupid to be part of but because he took a club that was more competitive and prosperous than Spurs when he bought us to the shell we are today he has lost out on the possible golden egg he could have had! At least he’s saved us the hand wringing we would had to do if we had of been part of these cunts and not dealing with our own cuntish problems.

  26. That sky sports cunt can shut the fuck up too . Who does he think he’s fuckin working for? Does anyone think he’d turn down money to work on this bullshit? UEFA were about to announce a re vamped champions league. Perhaps the the alleged “big boys” don’t like what they’ve seen and are threatening this nonsense to get their own way?

  27. Looking at it I think there are too many legal hurdles and obstacles to overcome to get this through. It’s probably just an attempt to blackmail the leagues and associations to give more money to the clubs.

  28. Good riddance to the bloated boring cunts. They can fuck right off and play in their shite “super” league while the rest of the country can get on with the normal league system. I hope they do realize that naturally some of them will become the whipping boys, and the lower income members of that league right? I just find it such an absurd concept, so fans of Liverpool and Manchester United won’t be able to brag about being champions of England anymore, they can try and brag about this pish but who will give a fuck? I’ll personally put way more stock in the PL without them than their stupid super duper league. What the rest of the league need to do is put in stipulations that if they leave and decide they want to be back they have to start at the bottom of the ladder.
