Watching a documentary called "Turning Point: The Vietnam War". I've always been shamefully ignorant of this conflict and period in US history, despite Paul Hardcastle. It covers the politics, the war itself, it's impact on society and civil rights. Clearly the US has always been fucked up.

One thing is absolutely certain, irrespective of how good a new crest may be there are going to be scores of people out there who hate it because it’s not the one they’re used to. When the current crest came out in 1988, I hated it and I associated it for a long time with failure - the last season using the NUFC ball logo we finished 8th; the first season of the new crest we finished bottom. It was only when we started being successful in 92/93 that I started to warm towards it. If when we change it, we have a hugely successful campaign, people will soon forget about it and move on.

I honestly don’t know if I’d prefer the instant payoff of seeing them knocked out of the playoffs or enjoying a full season of them getting hammered in the PL.

Not sure where you can steam it now, possibly on YouTube though? Ken Burns has made some great documentary series. There was a one on Ernest Hemingway and another one on Muhammad Ali that were excellent. I’m only really into late 50s / early 60s Jazz (and even then only a little bit) but I even thought his series in the history of Jazz was well worth watching. There other ones like a series about Prohibition and the American civil war which were pretty epic. What really sets that Vietnam War one apart though is all the contemporary footage available due to the unprecedented access (not seen before or since) that journalists and filmmakers had. Absolutely superb is 100% spot on.

No point in signing DCL. He's 28, he'll command pretty high wages, isn't a reliable goal scorer, and won't be available for half the season. Sooooo similar Callum Wilson then, who has at least been a reliable goal scorer. Delap is younger, plenty physical, looks a real prospect and will at least retain his value better than DCL. Evan Ferguson is an interesting shout, there must be a reason why he's nopt played as much. I'd guess it'll be partly due to injuries and partly due to being Irish and you know what they're like.
