Yeah, I doubt you'll find any fans of Chelsea on here. Liverpool get an inordinate amount of praise for 'success against the odds' when their modern successes are built on inorganic growth decades ago. Without the money pumped into the club 30-40 years ago, they wouldn't be one of the biggest clubs on the planet now. So when you hear stuff about them doing it without the riches of Man City you have to take a moment to realise that Liverpool bought their house years ago and any investment now is just maintenance. Man City only just bought their house and are pumping in huge sums to get it looking good. The issue for us (and other clubs) is we've just bought a house and the residents association is not letting us put on an extension, or convert the loft space even though they've all already got all that.

My ex-boss is Irish and a Liverpool fan - his brother ran the local supporter's branch in Ireland and did go to all the games but my ex-boss didn't until there was an easing of demand for tickets under Hodgson and they started emailing begging offers for midweek games He suggested going to the CL final in Istanbul as his first game but I did tell him I'd be forced to murder him if he did that. On the bright side I did correct his automatic "United" by constantly correcting him over the coarse of about 7 years.

I avoided the game as I’d rather they both lost. However I hate Liverpool more. Probably because their fans (particularly the plastic variety) have been irritating as fuck for the entire 40-odd years I’ve been interested in football. Also with Chelsea the more traditional fan base at least seems to realise what a set of cunts they are, almost revelling in it. Which is nothing to be admired but it’s better than the holier than thou Scouse cunts.

There were "lazy bastards" back in the day who were most likely suffering some kind of mental health crisis that a) wasn't diagnosed and b) was taboo to talk about. They were just labelled lazy bastard, sick notes or arseholes. Just because it wasn't identified as a mental health problem doesn't mean it wasn't occurring. I don't buy this narrative that the youngins have zero resilience. Look at literally everything that is happening in the world around you. 30 years ago most families could survive on one income, families with two were pretty often 'well off'. Nowadays these kids are having to graft 50 hour weeks, so is their significant other just to be able to afford to fucking rent a 1 bed flat and put some food on the table. Life is much worse for these kids, purely because they have to graft infinitely harder to keep their heads above water. It stands to reason that this may well cause them a bit of stress. Also from experience lazy bastards very rarely feel stress, and therefore have no fucking need to waste sick days. Also long term sickness records were pretty much consistent for 20 years - they've only really spiked since 2020 which is probably partly/largely due to covid. So I guess this pandemic of soft shite lazy bastards has been on going for a number of generations now.

Sammy's post is excellent, this one won't be nowhere near as succinct but I have to tell you, the amount of bullshit coverage us fans of historical old clubs who aren't Liverpool or Man United have to suck up just to please fans of those clubs or advertiser's wanting to please fans of those clubs, many of whom have fuck all connection to the cities of those 'I'm alright jack, fuck you the ladder's getting pulled up, enjoy permanently mediocre sides' clubs of protectionism. The sense of entitlement from those clubs and from some of their supporters, particularly, in my experience, the ones from other towns and cities who treat victories and cups not as a reason to celebrate with their friends, workmates and neighbours, (they can't, the majority of those friends, workmates and neighbours will support their local team so will be indifferent at best), but as an excuse to gloat and generally wind up the workmates and citizens of their home towns, (that's when they're not online on social media trying to let a bit of their handpicked trophy winning club's glory glow down on themselves with staggeringly little success., that's right, nobody thinks, 'ah, he supports Liverpool, their a good side so he must be really cool supporting them from another town', but rather, 'what a pathetic cunt this kid is.' Now that last bit isn't aimed at you before you get all edgy as you very rarely post in the football forum). For the avoidance of doubt, I detest Chelsea. I can't abide Klopp whilst being happy to admit he's an elite manager who knows he's flogged the horse at Liverpool and doesn't think he can do it anymore. Liverpool and one or two others are actively trying to fuck everyone else over. Do I like it when they lose? Of course I do. See also Man Utd. Not every young player is going to succeed. I’m sure Brighton have plenty that don’t make it. A one in five success rate on young hot shot players would be an excellent return. If you look at the profit Chelsea have made on players who may have only played a handful of games for the first team then you can see how it can be very profitable.
