  1. Mixed. Found a lump on my ribs (got a scan this weekend), think I might have flu too. I’ve been rough as fuck for a couple of days but none of the stated corona symptoms. House is upside down from all the work, still waiting on planning permission to do the major work because it’s a conservation area and planning departments are shitholes full of jobsworths. On the flip side my old man has finished his cancer treatment and it’s looking positive so far, and I’ve been offered a director level role within a different part of the group I currently work for. Less stress, more interesting work and more money. Look after yourselves

  11. The graphics I'll either etch or use waterslide decals for the most part, depends what's called for. Eching is a bit more involved and harder to recover from if you bollocks something up. Decal paper is a lot more forgiving, honestly I wish I'd discovered it earlier. Then clearcoat, typically I'll use a gloss polyurethane lacquer since guitar pedals take quite a lot of abuse. Poly can take more of a beating than the automotive clear coats. >> bare enclosure, can't be having that Don't tell anyone I said this but I honestly don't mind a bare enclosure. Most of the stuff I build for myself these days I never bother finishing. It's just going to lie on the floor getting kicked and beer spilled on it. (Edit to add:) most of the kits I've seen being sold look pretty decent. If you've got at least basic soldering skills I say go for it. If you ever run into any problems I'd highly recommend the diystompboxes forum. Great community thats been a far bigger help to me over the years than my electronics engineering background ever was. Aron who runs the forum and a whole host of other names that frequent the place were just featured in the last Premier Guitar magazine which was really nice to see.

  19. Well I’ve just bought running shoes if you need a smile Seriously, this year has effected a lot of people mentally in a lot of ways whether it’s the isolation, worrying about money, health, kids, work etc etc. You are both definitley not alone. My advice is try and not to worry about the news / stuff you can not do anything about and get up tomorrow and just give one of the charity’s a ring and get some stuff off your chest. All the best to the both of you.

  33. The cost of what you're suggesting and the consequent delay of those kids and the ones coming behind them being delayed from entering the workforce for a year plus having a fallow year at universities is estimated at £5.6 trillion pounds over the first ten years. Your missus' life simply isn't worth that much.

  34. You just repeat the school year for everyone. That's the answer. Which do you think is preferable, muddle through the current year with constant stops and starts and bunches of kids off for 2 weeks at a time self-isolating, entire year groups having to take time away from school, those of exam age particularly disrupted.....or call the whole thing off, protect pupils, teachers and their families that they'll take the virus home to, and repeat the school year for everyone next year. It is totally bogus to claim that kids and teachers can go to school, mix with other kids/teachers, and go home to their families, and we just don't need to worry about spread of the virus from that. That's how you do it. This current situation is so sub-optimal that you're leaving kids behind anyway but pretending that you aren't. It's mostly just you parents don't want your kids at home. You had the little cunts.

  36. That Storey freak has done some completely unrevealing interviews for metro radio (metro radio ffs ). Caught a bit of one where he was banging on about how different he is from most football club owners. Apparently that’s because he’s doing it because he loves football although I couldn’t help thinking the main difference is other football club owners actually own football clubs
